    Description

Nurture, Play, Heal: Volunteer in Our Relief Nursery Classrooms

Make a lasting difference in the lives of young children and families.

A Family Place, located in Yamhill County, Oregon, offers a Relief Nursery program for highly stressed families with children ages 0-5. We provide a safe, nurturing environment for children while offering free, voluntary in-home support for parents, focused on meeting immediate needs and building strong, healthy parent-child relationships.

In our Relief Nursery, children receive additional support through therapeutic classrooms designed to meet the social-emotional needs of toddlers and preschoolers. To make this possible, we rely on compassionate and dedicated volunteers to support daily classroom activities and facilitate play.

    What Volunteers Do

    • Create a safe, welcoming environment for children to prepare them for pre-K.
    • Assist teachers in therapeutic classroom activities
    • Help children express themselves in a trauma informed environment through coordinated activities, meal times, and play.

    Volunteer Opportunities

    • Ongoing, consistent volunteer shifts available year-round (ages 15+)
    • Classes held at various locations throughout Yamhill County
    • Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 9:00 AM–12:00 PM (with occasional respite days on Fridays)
    • Ideal for volunteers with morning availability once a week.
    • Opportunities for both long-term commitment and meaningful community engagement
