    Description

Volunteer needed to lead Wednesday 12-2:30pm Outings to Dusable Black History Museum for Chicago hostel Guests

MUST BE A RESIDENT OF CHICAGO OR THE CHICAGO AREA TO APPLY.

Time Commitment: We are looking for a volunteer to lead a recurring Wednesday lunchtime outing (12p-2:30p) to the DuSable Black History Museum. The tour would start at the hostel (in the Loop) and you would take guests on public transit to enjoy the museum.

Do you enjoy interacting with people from different countries and cultures? Are you interested in sharing your knowledge about neighborhood history? We offer daily tours and outings for hostel guests wanting to see and experience all that Chicago has to offer. This is a great opportunity to meet and engage with people from around the world.

We are seeking a volunteer who can shadow on of our existing tours/outings as training, and lead guests on a cultural outing to experience the DuSable Black History Museum in Hyde Park.

The volunteer would meet guests at our hostel in the Loop, then take them on the CTA to the select area, where the volunteer would guide guests to a few select exhibits, or allow them to roam at their own pace.

Our tours/outings include off-the-beaten track sites, minority-owned businesses that hostel guests can support and patron, and inclusion of historically underrepresented / diverse perspectives of the city.
