    Trap-Neuter-Return Volunteer

TNR Volunteer Program: Under the supervision of the TNR Manager, the TNR Volunteer position will support the OHS TNR Program.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Complete all required training: OHS orientation, driving requirements, and TNR process orientation including retrieving and assuming responsibility for preferred trapping equipment loaned to you or purchase your own if desired, cleaning and disinfecting of equipment, transport crates, and car interior.
    • Candidate will have a phone interview by one of our TNR volunteers and discuss with TNR manager your assigned role on the TNR team: trapping, home care pre or post-op, transport to/from appointments, return to trap site post op, calling TNR requestors, etc.
    • Ideally shadow at least once an experienced TNR trapper regardless if trapping or assigned other duties.
    • If planning to house cats pre-post op or recovery, ensure you have a clean, warm, available space away from any other pets you have.
    • Complete all documentation required for each cat as instructed during the TNR orientation. Track your expenses and volunteer hours and report to the TNR manager as directed each month.
    • Notify the TNR manager immediately if a cat looks sick or injured or if you see unattended kittens with no mother showing up for several hours.
    • Be part of the team and work with the other trappers assigned to sites.
    • Be able to talk to TNR requesters to understand their situation and report back to TNR manager or volunteer
    • If needed, be involved in fundraising for TNR copays.
