Description
Do you love to snap pictures? Do you spend hours scrolling through cat videos online? Use your camera skills to help real-life rescue kittens find their forever homes! A single picture can change a rescue cat’s life forever. Join us as a volunteer photographer and use your lens to save lives!
A volunteer photographer for our cat rescue will take high-quality, appealing photos of cats and kittens to help them get adopted faster, while also capturing short-form video content for platforms like TikTok (desired).
Key Responsibilities
- Photographing Kittens and Cats: Take clear, well-lit, and engaging photos of rescue cats and kittens for online adoption listings.
- Creating Video Content: Film playful, cute, or personality-driven video clips of the animals for TikTok and social media.
- Editing Media: Crop, color-correct, and enhance photos and short videos to make the animals look their absolute best.
- Traveling to Animals: Work mostly onsite at our main facility, with occasional travel to local foster family homes. [1]
Requirements and Equipment
- Personal Equipment: Must provide your own camera equipment (DSLR, mirrorless, or a high-quality, modern smartphone).
- Some Experience: You do not need to be a pro; you need to be committed, willing, and available & willing to learn.
- Transportation: Reliable transportation to commute to our onsite location and occasional foster homes.
- Patience and Animal Savvy: Able to work calmly around easily distracted or timid animals to capture their unique personalities.
- Social Media Know-How: Familiar with current TikTok trends, trending audio, and short-form video editing styles. (This is useful but not absolutely necessary.)
