    Description

    Mission-aligned engineering • Own the front-end • Ship a real product

The Chamber of Us (TCUS) is building Libelle, a next-generation volunteer-matching system built on data ethics, transparent architecture, and sovereign computation. We’re deploying the MVP on a self-hosted Raspberry Pi Pathfinder Node — a sovereign micro-server we control end-to-end.

Our backend (FastAPI + Sheets/Drive integration) is ready.

    Our résumé parser works.

    Our matching engine is live.

Now we need a production-minded engineer to bring the frontend to life.

This role is suitable for mid-level engineers, senior devs, or any full-stack builder who wants ownership of a meaningful, shippable system.

    The Challenge

You will own the front-end architecture and delivery of Libelle v0.1.

    You will:

    • Build clean, resilient React/Next.js UI components
    • Implement file upload → FastAPI flow (PDF parsing pipeline)
    • Display parser results + match recommendations
    • Build onboarding and consent screens
    • Add privacy-forward UX patterns
    • Work directly with our backend lead + PM (Kevin)
    • Ship to a sovereign Pi deployment — no AWS, no black boxes

This is not a toy project.

This is a real, deployed MVP serving 100–200 volunteers.

    Tech Stack

You should be strong in at least one:

    ✔ React

    ✔ Next.js

    ✔ TypeScript

✔ API integration (REST/FastAPI, or similar)

✔ Building production UIs from Figma

    ✔ State management (Context/Redux/Zustand/Jotai)

    Nice-to-have / Bonus experience:

    • File upload flows
    • Authentication (simple token-based)
    • CI/CD
    • Docker
    • Edge deployment / local-first patterns
    • Interest in sovereign infra, ethics, or privacy tech
    • Curiosity about building “alignment infrastructure”

    Ideal Candidates

People who excel in roles like:

    • Full-Stack Engineer
    • Senior Front-End Engineer
    • Product Engineer
    • Indie hacker / builder
    • AI startup engineer
    • Staff engineer who wants meaningful impact on the side

This is not just for students.

This is for builders who care about shipping, ethics, and systems that matter.

    Why Join Libelle?

    • You will own front-end architecture from scratch
    • Your code becomes part of the TCUS Superstack, our open alignment infrastructure
    • You will work with a real backend, a real matching engine, and a real parser
    • You can ship features that directly help volunteers across the world

    You will get:

      • A live deployed app in your portfolio
      • A leadership role in an emerging open-source project
      • A strong reference letter (optional)
      • Opportunities to influence roadmap + architecture

If you’re tired of meaningless corporate sprints or “mock” nonprofit projects, this one is very different.
