Description
Youth for Diabetes Awareness Association (YDAA) is looking for volunteer Research Journalists who enjoy researching health topics and writing educational articles!!
As a Research Journalist, you will choose a diabetes-related topic or research question, conduct research using reliable sources, and write an article or research paper that may be published on YDAA's Medium publication with full credit to you as the author.
Your work will help educate readers, spread awareness, and make trustworthy diabetes information more accessible to teens, families, and communities.
This is a flexible, long-term volunteer role. You can volunteer whenever your schedule allows, choose topics that interest you, and continue earning volunteer hours throughout your time with YDAA.
Responsibilities
- Research diabetes-related topics using credible sources
- Write articles (500–1,500 words)
- Revise work based on editor feedback if needed
- Submit articles for publication
Once accepted, we'll let you know how many volunteer hours you'll earn for each piece you complete, and we can provide a verification letter for your hours if you need to submit them for a school, club, or scholarship requirement. You don't need any prior experience! A YDAA board member will be available to guide you, and we'll share detailed instructions along with examples of great work from other volunteers to help you get started. This is a great opportunity to build and strengthen your skills while making a real impact.
