Outreach Volunteer with Habitat for Humanity ReStore MontDelco

Join Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery and Delaware Counties as an Outreach Volunteer with the ReStore!

Main tasks include:

• Researching categories of businesses to identify locations in our area and entering the company information in our CRM,
• Contacting the company by phone call to present why we are reaching out and to ask if the company can donate excess inventory, overruns, returned items, discontinued models, etc.

Habitat for Humanity Montgomery and Delaware Counties is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI), the largest nonprofit homebuilder worldwide.

Since 1989, our mission is to transform lives and in our region by building and repairing homes in partnership with families in need, and uniting all residents of Montgomery and Delaware counties around the cause of affordable homeownership. Our vision is a community where all people in Montgomery and Delaware counties live in safe and stable home.

One of the principal ways that we finance our construction and repair projects is through our ReStores, home improvement thrift stores. One hundred percent of the profits from our ReStores go into building and repairing homes in our area.

In order to keep a high level of inventory in the stores, we reach out to certain types of businesses to ask for donations to the stores. Examples would include construction companies, home builders, building materials suppliers, furniture stores and retail outlets such as Lowes or Home Depot.

We are currently looking for volunteers (part time or full time) to assist with this effort. Responsibilities include researching categories of businesses to identify locations in our area. The volunteer would then enter the company information in our CRM, contact the company, present why we are reaching out and to ask if the company can donate excess inventory, overruns, returned items, discontinued models, etc.

The goal is to form a relationship with these companies so that donations continue on a periodic basis.

Experience with CRMs, Excel Spread sheets, and Word documents is very helpful.
