    Description

Volunteer Video Editor & Graphic Designer – Bangkok Cat Society

Organization: Global Initiative to Advance Entrepreneurship (GIAE)

    Project: Bangkok Cat Society (BCS)

Location: Remote (open to volunteers worldwide)

    About the Project

Bangkok Cat Society (BCS) is a community-based cat welfare initiative supported by the U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit Global Initiative to Advance Entrepreneurship (GIAE). BCS operates in Bangkok’s most vulnerable neighborhoods, providing humane trap–neuter–return (TNR), medical support, field rescues, and community education. The project partners with temples, slum communities, and local residents to reduce suffering, stabilize cat populations, and create long-term, community-led solutions.

BCS is preparing a series of donor-friendly explainer videos to support its fundraising, crowdfunding, and public outreach activities. We are seeking a skilled volunteer to help us turn our raw footage into compelling stories that convey the urgency and impact of the work we do.

    Role Overview

We are looking for a Volunteer Video Editor & Light Graphic Designer to help create 1–3 short explainer videos (typically 1–3 minutes each). These videos will help donors and supporters understand the realities of cat welfare in Bangkok and the life-saving role of our TNR and field rescue teams.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creative storytelling, has strong editing instincts, and wants to make a tangible difference for animals and communities.

    What You’ll Be Working With

Volunteers will receive access to organized video assets via a cloud folder, including:

    • Footage from real TNR operations
    • Field rescues and emergency interventions
    • Mobile clinic procedures and behind-the-scenes work
    • Interviews with monks discussing the cultural and welfare importance of BCS
    • B-roll of neighborhoods, street cats, volunteers, and community interactions
    • Photos, logos, and graphic materials
    • Script outlines and narrative goals from our leadership team

You will help shape these materials into polished, emotionally compelling explainer videos optimized for donors, crowdfunding platforms, social media, and PR.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with the BCS team to shape storyboards, narrative flow, and messaging
    • Edit raw footage into cohesive, high-quality 1–3 minute explainer videos
    • Add transitions, light motion graphics, titles, captions, and call-to-action elements
    • Assist with basic color correction and audio clean-up
    • Incorporate still photos, graphics, and branding elements
    • Create short cut-downs for social media if possible
    • Provide creative input and recommendations throughout the process

    Qualifications

    • Experience with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve)
    • Basic graphic design or motion graphics skills (titles, lower thirds, end screens)
    • Strong sense of pacing, storytelling, and visual clarity
    • Ability to work with mixed footage and varying sound quality
    • Comfort collaborating asynchronously with a small team
    • A passion for animal welfare, community impact, or documentary-style storytelling is a plus

    Time Commitment

    • Flexible, typically 3–6 hours per week, depending on your availability
    • Fully remote, schedule your work at any time
    • Project runs over the next 1–2 months, with opportunities to continue if interested

    Commitment Details

    This role is ideal for:

    • Emerging or experienced video editors building their portfolio
    • Students in film, digital media, or communications
    • Professionals who want a meaningful, high-impact creative volunteer experience
    • Anyone who loves animals and wants their creative skills to make a direct difference

Volunteers will play a key role in helping BCS communicate its mission, attract donors, and bring international visibility to a humane, community-first approach to street cat welfare.
