    Description

Nativity House Shelter enthusiastically welcomes corporate volunteer teams. Whether your company has an annual volunteer day or wants to do a one-day team building service project, we have options for you.

We offer onsite group projects as well as activities that can be done remotely.

    The Basics:

Groups that are interested in volunteering onsite are asked to schedule at least 3 weeks in advance so we have time to collect and process group paperwork. Background checks are required for groups serving onsite and are processed at no cost to volunteers or companies/employers.

Offsite projects are quick and easy to plan. They do not require background checks but we may ask for media release forms (optional) if you company is willing to share project photos.

    Onsite Group Project Ideas:

    • Help cook and/or serve a meal at the shelter
    • Help clean and organize the hospitality kitchen
    • Help sort and stock donations
    • Host/Sponsor a Movie Night or Game Night at the shelter
    • Host a holiday party

    Offsite Group Project Ideas:

    • Pack "Hot Hands & Toasty Toes" frostbite prevention kits
    • Make "Holiday Hot Cups" for winter holidays (paper coffee cups decorated and stuffed with hot cocoa packs)
    • Organize a sandwich making party
    • Start a casserole drive. Volunteers are welcome to make casseroles at home or at the office. We ask that ALL home cooks use gloves when handling food, and that casseroles are frozen and labeled when dropped off. Labeling includes the date made, an ingredient list and cooking instructions.
    • Pack "care kits" with personal care essentials like travel size shampoo/conditioner combos, soap or bodywash, shavings supplies and dental care products.
    • Pack "Bee Well" care kits for cold & flu season. Bee themed kits include things like tea bags, honey sticks, cough drops, travel size Kleenex packs, and hand sanitizer gel or wipes.
