    Description

    Organization: Noah Career Coaching

    Status: Volunteer | Remote

    Time Commitment: 2–5 hours per week (flexible)

    Reports To: Founder & CEO (with collaboration across Leadership & HR)

    Position Overview

    Noah Career Coaching is seeking a Volunteer 501(c)(3) Compliance Officer to help ensure our organization operates in alignment with federal, state, and nonprofit compliance requirements. This role is ideal for individuals interested in nonprofit law, compliance, governance, public administration, or nonprofit management who want hands-on experience supporting a mission-driven organization.

    The Compliance Officer plays a critical role in protecting the integrity, transparency, and sustainability of Noah Career Coaching as a federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Monitor and support compliance with IRS 501(c)(3) regulations and nonprofit best practices
    • Assist leadership in maintaining required documentation (e.g., bylaws, policies, filings)
    • Track and flag upcoming compliance deadlines (IRS filings, state renewals, annual reports)
    • Review internal policies for compliance alignment (Code of Conduct, Conflict of Interest, Whistleblower Policy, etc.)
    • Support leadership with governance and board compliance matters
    • Research federal and state nonprofit compliance updates and share relevant guidance
    • Help ensure proper record-keeping and transparency standards are followed
    • Collaborate with HR and Operations on volunteer and organizational compliance considerations
    • Provide non-legal guidance and recommendations (no legal advice required)

    Qualifications (Flexible & Volunteer-Friendly)

    • Interest or background in nonprofit management, compliance, law, public administration, or governance
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
    • Comfortable working with policies, forms, and documentation
    • Ability to communicate compliance needs clearly and professionally
    • Experience with nonprofits, government, compliance, or auditing is a plus—but not required
    • Students, recent graduates, professionals, and retirees are all encouraged to apply
