    Description

Teachers: Beta Test a New Biodiversity Science App with Your 3rd-8th Grade Students

Help Shape a New Biodiversity Learning Tool Through Outdoor Classroom Testing

Accelerator Media is a nonprofit educational media organization seeking teachers, educators, and homeschool parents to help test Insectopia Explorer, a new mobile learning experience for students in grades 3 through 8.

Insectopia Explorer uses computer vision image identification and an LLM-powered AI to help children photograph, identify, and learn about insects and arthropods in their environment, building a deeper understanding of biodiversity and the ecological roles these creatures play. The app is guided by Lumen, an AI firefly companion who introduces students to Insectopia, a hidden world that exists all around us, where bugs live and work to keep our planet in balance.

We are looking for a small group of education partners to try the working prototype, share feedback, and help us improve the experience before broader development. This is a chance to bring a new kind of science activity into your classroom or learning group and to have a direct hand in shaping how it evolves.

To participate, you should work with children in the 3rd through 8th grade range who have access to a smartphone or tablet with a camera and internet connection. No special technical knowledge is required.

If you are interested, submit interest directly through Idealist or send a brief note to info@acceleratormedia.org.
