Board Treasurer

Seeking Volunteer Board Treasurer

Location: Troy, NY (mostly remote, with occasional in-person meetings)

Commitment: ~4-6 hours/month (more during budget season)

Compensation: Volunteer / unpaid board position

For nearly 20 years, The Sanctuary for Independent Media has turned a century-old church in Troy into a home for independent art, media, and social justice — film, music, radio, community gardens, and grassroots organizing on one urban campus. As we step into an exciting new chapter, we're looking for a Treasurer to help us build a strong financial foundation for decades to come.

The Role

You'll join our working board and partner closely with our Executive Director to:

• Provide oversight of our bookkeeping and accounting firm
• Ensure our filings are accurate and on time
• Keep an eye on our QuickBooks system
• Help the board understand our finances so we can make smart, mission-driven decisions

This is a great fit for someone with accounting or finance experience who wants to put those skills toward something meaningful.
