Nonprofit
Food Rescuer - Glassboro/Gloucester County, NJ to Gloucester Township/Camden County, NJ
Details
Description
Our volunteers recover healthy meals from commercial donor cafeterias and deliver them to specified nearby non-profit organizations. Every meal saved stays out of the landfill, helping the environment, while also nourishing our community in need.
The volunteer role would involve:
- Picking up meals from our donor cafeterias on the campus of Rowan University in Glassboro and
- Delivering these meals to our non-profit community partner in Gloucester Township.
These volunteering opportunities happen on Wednesday mornings at 8:30/9am and on Friday afternoons at 2:30/3pm.
Each volunteer task will take approximately 90 minutes, including travel time between donor and recipient. Please note these tasks cannot be pushed to later in the day.
We require volunteers to drive their own car. We welcome regular participation but will work with your schedule. Insulated bags will be provided to carry food donations.
We are looking for volunteers in Gloucester County who would be close to Rowan University and/or Gloucester Township.
