SEEKING VOLUNTEERS TO HELP IN CONSTRUCTING AND SETTING UP OUR SKILLS TRAINING AND TALENT DEVELOPMENT CENTER Butakoola Village Association for Development (BUVAD) is an indigenous registered not for profit organization (Reg No S. 5914/8930) operating in Kayunga District of Uganda East Africa. Our mission is to promote human values for the people of Kayunga so that they may realize their full potential towards development for a sustainable living. Butakoola Village Association for Development (BUVAD) is a young organization, indigenous founded and registered local NGO Reg No: S.5914/8930 operational in Kayunga District of Uganda, managed by locals, which started its work as a CBO way back in 2000, got registered as CBO with the District Gender Office in 2006 and got registered as an NGO by the NGO board of Uganda in May 2011. BUVAD is implementing the following projects in Kayunga District; - Orphaned Vulnerable Children Care and Support project - Rural Safe Water Supply Project - Climate change issues and awareness rising project(Bottle Brick Water Harvesting Tanks and Houses Construction) - Sunflower growing for income generation. We are currently focusing at sustainable management and integration of our programes to ably step up our project implementation capacity for effective impact on the overwhelming project beneficiary needs within our focal area of Kayunga District. BUVAD is focusing on setting up an own research and innovations promotion center for local/indigenous developed climate change resilience - innovative skills. Our main objective in this circumstance will be to empower the locals to build their own local capacity towards self sustainably overcoming the primary challenge of poverty and its associated challenges within a would be agro-based economy. We hope to do this by starting with a promotion of our own developed environmental upgrading innovation of re-using waste plastic bottles as bricks to construct all the required structures at this centre including; rain water harvesting tanks while creating a labor intensive approach to empower the locals with income generating skills in bottle brick making and construction technology. This is a project initiative that cannot only be promoted by the small volunteer team of a growing BUVAD but with added enthusiastic, external volunteer staff and fundraisers directly getting involved to cause realization of a good case of this vision. We need the following teams of people; - Fund raisers for; Centre site Plot, Other construction Materials and Logistics - Waste Plastic bottle Collection Mobilizers to collect 40,000pcs - Waste plastic Bottle Brick Making Mobilizers. - Building team participants, working along with our local team and community members. - Site Planners - Documentary Developers - Those with adoptable innovations - Labour in put. Upon this background I write to welcome Volunteers, joining us at BUVAD to spear head this intriguing initiative.
