Domestic Violence Shelter and Hotline Volunteer

Shelter/Hotline Volunteers spend 8 hours per month (usually two 4-hour shifts on weekdays, weeknights, weekends, and/or holidays) in our Domestic Violence Shelter. Volunteers respond to crisis hotline calls, ensure the smooth operation of the shelter, and provide support to domestic violence survivors & their children residing at the shelter. The Safe House is a secure location, about 10 minutes (walk) from orange/silver lines.

Now recruiting for our Spring Cohort - to begin in April 2026.

Volunteers must be 18+, complete 40 hours of training on 1-2x evenings a week, and submit background checks before beginning. One year commitment required. Bilingual (including English and Spanish) applicants especially encouraged to apply!
