    Description

    Position Overview

We welcome eligible students with Optional Practical Training (OPT) F1 or Curricular Practical Training (CPT) F-1 Status to apply for this opportunity. We offer at least 20 hours per week to volunteer.

MatchingDonors.com is seeking an experienced AI developer to design, build, and automate a comprehensive Patient Microsite system. This system will create individualized, privacy-protected microsites for organ transplant patients, enabling them to share their story and reach potential donors — all identified by patient ID number rather than name to protect their privacy.

The ideal candidate brings expertise in web development, AI-driven automation, email marketing integrations, and print/digital asset generation.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Patient Microsite Development
    • Build a system that automatically creates individualized microsites hosted within MatchingDonors.com for each patient when a patient registers on MatchingDonors.com
    • All patient-facing pages and assets must reference the patient by their unique ID number — never their name — to protect patient privacy
    • Ensure each microsite is fully integrated within the MatchingDonors.com platform and meets HIPAA and privacy best practices
    1. AI-Powered Weekly Automated Outreach
    • Set up and configure automated weekly outreach workflows for each patient microsite, including:
      • Email List Automation
        • Build and manage a generalized library of autoresponder email messages tailored for transplant patients
        • Configure AI to auto-send weekly emails to each patient's contact list
        • Evaluate and implement compatibility with GMass for bulk email distribution; document findings and recommendations
      • Social Media Automation
        • Auto-generate, schedule and send banner ads using the patient's ID number for distribution across their social media channels
    1. AI-Generated Print & Digital Marketing Assets
    • Configure AI tools to automatically generate personalized marketing collateral for each patient, featuring their unique ID number:
      • Yard signs
      • Bumper stickers
      • Business cards
      • Banner ads (digital)
    • Ensure all assets are print-ready and meet standard size/resolution specifications
    1. AI Generated Press Release System
    • Configure AI tools to automatically generate and distribute press releases for patients to their local area media outlets, including:
      • Create a process for patients to submit their local press contact list
      • Develop a system for MatchingDonors.com staff to supplement and expand the patient-provided press list
      • Implement a written approval workflow: all press releases and media lists must receive written patient approval before any distribution
      • Build or source a patient media release/consent form for documentation purposes
      • Configure routing so that all media interview requests are directed to and handled by MatchingDonors.com staff — not the patient directly

    Required Skills & Experience

    • Proven experience building patient or user microsites within an existing web platform
    • Strong proficiency in web development (HTML/CSS/JavaScript, and relevant frameworks)
    • Experience integrating AI tools for content generation and marketing automation
    • Familiarity with email marketing platforms; GMass experience a plus
    • Experience with automated social media scheduling and ad creation
    • Ability to generate print-ready design assets (yard signs, business cards, etc.) via automated or AI-assisted tools
    • Understanding of privacy best practices, including anonymizing patient-facing content
    • Excellent communication skills; ability to document workflows and produce written approval/consent forms

    Nice to Have

    • Experience working with healthcare, nonprofit, or organ donation platforms
    • Familiarity with HIPAA compliance requirements
    • Experience building media distribution or PR automation workflows
    • Background in digital advertising (Google Ads, Facebook/Meta Ads)

    Important: Privacy & Compliance Requirements

Patient privacy is the top priority for this project. All deliverables must adhere to the following standards:

    • No patient names may appear on any microsite, asset, email, or press material — only the assigned patient ID number
    • All press releases and media contact lists require explicit written patient approval prior to distribution
    • A formal patient media release/consent form must be developed and implemented
    • All media and interview inquiries are to be handled exclusively by MatchingDonors.com staff
