    🍽 Food Service Volunteer

    Meal Preparation & Cooking

    • Prepare nutritious, balanced meals and snacks for youth participants, following any dietary restrictions or allergy guidelines.
    • Assist with menu planning that supports healthy growth and energy for program activities.
    • Incorporate culturally diverse and comforting dishes to foster inclusion and belonging.

    Food Safety & Cleanliness

    • Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and dining area in compliance with health and safety standards.
    • Properly store, label, and rotate food supplies to prevent waste.
    • Follow safe food handling, cooking, and serving procedures.

    Serving & Hospitality

    • Serve meals in a warm, welcoming manner that makes youth feel valued and cared for.
    • Create a positive dining environment that encourages conversation and community.
    • Assist with setting up and breaking down meal service areas.

    Collaboration & Support

    • Work alongside staff, other volunteers, and youth to encourage teamwork in the kitchen.
    • Support special events, fundraisers, or community dinners by preparing and serving food.
    • Help train new kitchen volunteers on procedures and mission‑driven service.

    Mission Connection

    • Model kindness, patience, and encouragement while interacting with youth.
    • Use mealtimes as an opportunity to build relationships and reinforce the nonprofit’s values of faith, hope, and empowerment.
