    Each shift is 3 hours (we are open to working part of a shift). Working multiple shifts is welcomed.

    Volunteers must be at least 15. Must be able to lift boxes of books. We require those who are not already onboarded as long-term SJPL volunteers to sign a one-time volunteering form which we will provide.

    Help with Book Sale at Bascom Library, February 20 and 21,  2026

    Help the Friends of Bascom Library with their book sale.

    • Please note, we especially need help with the shift on Saturday, February 21 from 1:00-4:00 pm

    Please note the work will involve lifting and transporting boxes of books, which can be heavy, as well as organizing books by category. The Friends will handle purchase transactions. We recommend bringing a full water bottle.

    Volunteers must be at least 15. For more information and to register for one or more shifts, please go to the Library website

    3 shifts available:

    • preparing for book sale next day: Friday, February 20, 2026 -- 2:00 to 5:00 pm
    • sorting and arranging books: Saturday, February 21, 2026 -- 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
    • packing away materials: Saturday, February 21, 2026 -- 1:00 to 4:00 pm
