Looking for community service hours? Want to learn new skills? Come volunteer with VITA!
For 24 years, the Fremont Family Resource Center's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program has offered free tax preparation services to eligible individuals and families. We'd love for you to join us in helping the community!
We're looking for volunteers to fill the following roles:
- Tax Preparers
- Greeters
- Phone Schedulers
- Intake Specialists
- Interpreters & Translators for: Spanish, Chinese, Dari, American Sign Language
No prior tax experience is needed! Training, materials, and support from a great team of fellow volunteers will be provided. This is a great opportunity to gain communication, customer service, and community service experience while helping local families access free tax assistance.
Our VITA Site will operate Wednesday-Saturday during the 2027 tax filing season. Volunteers can sign up for shifts - two shifts are open each day.

How to Volunteer for This Opportunity
We ask all prospective volunteers to attend a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) information session to learn about the program. Dates of the information session will be provided once we receive your interest email.
