Help Build Social Connection Through Walking and Talking — Acquaint Walks Ambassador

Like people? Like walking? Want more of your neighbors to have someone to walk with? If any of these are true, this might be for you.

Acquaint Walks are small group walks that anyone can schedule and open up to their community. At the time of the walk, people are matched at random into groups of 2-3 and instructed to follow the "anyone commitment," - which means we agree to be present and do our best to have a conversation, no matter who we are matched with.

Our communities are stronger when we know each other. As an Acquaint Walks Ambassador, your role is simple: help more people find their way to a walk.

What the role looks like:

• Invite friends, family, coworkers, your faith group, or a local organization to come walk with us
• Spread the word so walks fill up and new ones get scheduled
• Point people to walks that are already on the calendar, whether you’re able to join them or not
• Get the Acquaint Walks app (needed for finding and joining walks)
• Share your feedback on the app as we go, what's working and what isn't
• Note, Walkers must be 18 or older, or accompanied by an adult

Getting the word out is the single biggest thing standing between us and walks in every neighborhood, and that's where you come in.

Ambassadors are welcome and encouraged to join walks too, whenever it fits your schedule. For example, Alex and Katherine (Acquaint’s Co-founders) anchor a walk every Sunday at 10:30am in Bannerwood Park in Bellevue, and it's open to anyone. Come out, bring someone along, or just point a friend to it.

We've just launched in King County and the app is live, as of July 2026.

Time Commitment

Flexible. You set your own pace. We suggest 1 to 2 hours a week over the next three months as we grow.

Why Now?

6 in 10 Americans already walk for leisure. Yet fewer than a third know their neighbors well. What if more of us had an easy way to open our walks to the community and walk together? What if we could make it a low-pressure setting where nobody expects anything from each other except presence? This is our goal with Acquaint Walks. Join our team as an Ambassador Volunteer – we believe we can achieve this goal together.

Acquaint already powers 35,000+ hours of human connection across 110+ countries through virtual peer-to-peer conversations. Acquaint Walks brings that same energy to in-person, local communities, and King County is where it starts. You'd be joining while it's still small enough that your involvement genuinely shapes what it becomes!
