(Kid's Area & Donor Hero Memorial Quilt Area) 2026 Stride For Sight 5K Run/Walk

Volunteers are needed to help in the kid's area, kid's fun run and donor hero memorial quilt area.

The event will occur on Saturday, March 28th at Comanche County Park, Pavilion 2 in San Antonio, TX.

Stride For Sight 5K goal is to "Saving Sight, Changing Lives" . The family and pet friendly 5K run/walk is hosted by two non-profit organizations: Lions Sight Research Foundation and San Antonio Eye Bank . The mission in hosting the event is to educate and inspire the community about the Giving the Gift of Sight through cornea donation and transplantation, the importance of healthy vision screenings and support for individuals suffering from low vision or blindness.

Why should you volunteer at this event? Volunteer to make a difference, support those affected and help strengthen awareness efforts. Tasty THANK YOU breakfast tacos will be provided for all volunteers.

• Ten million school children in America have vision conditions that can impact learning. Early and regular vision screenings can be essential to diagnosis and treat vision issues.
• Thousands of men, women and children lose their sight each year due to disease, infection and injury. Sight in many cases can be restored by receiving a cornea transplant. Thanks to deceased donor heroes, over 50,000 cornea transplants occur annually.
