    Description

Sutter Care at Home – Saratoga serves hospice patients throughout Santa Clara County who receive care in their own homes or in nursing facilities. Our mission is to provide comfort, dignity, and compassionate support to patients nearing the end of life.

We are seeking caring volunteers who are at least 18 years old and willing to share their time with patients during this important journey. Some patients may have limited family or friends available to visit, making the companionship of a volunteer especially meaningful.

The greatest gift you can give is your time, kindness, and willingness to listen.

As a hospice volunteer, even the simplest gestures can make a meaningful difference. Sitting at a patient's bedside, reading a book, sharing a conversation, or helping with a small errand for a patient or family member can bring comfort and brighten someone's day. The smiles you bring to others may become some of your most rewarding experiences.

No previous hospice volunteer experience is necessary. Sutter Care at Home provides training and ongoing support to help you feel prepared and confident in your role.

Volunteering with hospice is a wonderful opportunity to share compassion, develop new skills, and make a lasting impact. Volunteers help support the physical, emotional, spiritual, and practical needs of patients and their families by offering companionship, a compassionate ear, and a comforting presence.

Although volunteers do not provide clinical or personal care, the time and attention they give can bring comfort and reassurance to patients and their loved ones.
