    Description

    Board Member: Treasure

    The Treasurer of Nation of Diversity plays a vital role in overseeing the financial health and sustainability of our nonprofit organization. This position ensures transparency, accountability, and strategic financial planning to support our mission of reducing homelessness and raising awareness about mental health through creative arts. The Treasurer works closely with the Executive Director, Board Members, and fundraising teams to manage budgets, track expenses, and develop financial growth strategies.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Oversee the financial management and fiscal integrity of Nation of Diversity.
    • Prepare and present financial reports, including budgets, cash flow statements, and financial forecasts, to the Board of Directors.
    • Ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with nonprofit financial regulations.
    • Monitor all financial transactions, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to accounting best practices.
    • Assist in grant budgeting, financial planning for programs, and ensuring appropriate use of funds.
    • Support fundraising efforts by providing financial insights for sponsorships, grant proposals, and donor contributions.
    • Develop and implement financial policies to improve efficiency and accountability.
    • Work with accountants or auditors to file necessary tax documents, including Form 990.
    • Guide financial decision-making to support the long-term growth and sustainability of the organization.
