    Description

Conserve Life Foundation (CLF) is a community-based nonprofit organization in Tanzania committed to empowering vulnerable communities through sustainable livelihoods, skills development, and environmental initiatives. As part of its women empowerment programs, CLF is implementing a tailoring and vocational skills project aimed at supporting women and young girls to gain practical skills and create income-generating opportunities.

The project is currently equipped with four sewing machines and provides hands-on training in tailoring, garment making, and basic entrepreneurship. It targets women and youth who have limited access to formal employment and are seeking sustainable ways to support themselves and their families. Through this initiative, participants are trained to produce clothing items for local markets while developing essential business and financial management skills.

We are seeking passionate local and international volunteers to support this initiative and help expand its impact. Volunteers will work closely with the community by assisting in tailoring training sessions, sharing basic design or sewing skills, supporting product development and creativity, and helping improve the quality and marketability of finished products. Volunteers may also contribute by supporting branding and marketing efforts, identifying potential markets, documenting project activities through storytelling and media, and assisting in fundraising and partnership development.

This opportunity is open to individuals with an interest in community development, vocational training, fashion, design, or entrepreneurship. While experience in tailoring or design is an added advantage, it is not required. We welcome volunteers who are creative, adaptable, and willing to share knowledge while learning from the local community.

The project is based in the Kilimanjaro Region of Tanzania, with opportunities for both on-site and remote engagement. The duration is flexible, ranging from 2 weeks to 6 months, with a rolling start date. Volunteers will receive a certificate of participation, gain practical experience in grassroots development, and contribute to building sustainable livelihood opportunities for women and youth.

By joining this project, volunteers will directly support skills development, income generation, and long-term economic empowerment for women and young people in the community.
