Volunteer Dog and Cat Transport Drivers

Our pets in temporary foster homes need help getting from foster homes to their vet appointments and guardian reunions. The Volunteer Dog Transport Driver position is perfect for any animal-loving human in/near LA County with access to their own vehicle who wants to donate a little of their time and driving skills to make a tremendous difference in the lives of the pets and their owners.

Time Commitment: 1-5 hours per week

Reports To: Dogs Matter SoCal

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Access to own vehicle.
• Has a valid driver's license.
• Proof of annual inspection, registration, and insurance policy as needed.
• Maintain regular vehicle maintenance to ensure the safety of yourself and the dogs.
• Must love dogs and cats!

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure each pet travels comfortably and safely and arrives on time to its destination.
• Maintain communication with Dogs Matter SoCal staff and foster parents for assigned trips.
• When representing Dogs Matter SoCal volunteers are asked to embody our core values of being positive, welcoming, responsive, and supportive.
• Submit availability weekly to Dogs Matter SoCal staff.

Local Rides:

• Transport a pet from their foster home to their vet appointment.
• Transport a pet from their foster home to their grooming appointment.
• Supply pick up from Dogs Matter SoCal supply hub and bring to their foster home or their vet appointment.
