    Description

Partners for World Health (PWH) is a 501(c)(3) founded in 2009 and headquartered in Portland, Maine, with operations throughout the New England area. We work to improve health care and reduce environmental impact by collecting surplus medical equipment and supplies and distributing them to communities globally and locally. In 2025 we shipped over 300,000 pounds of medical supplies and equipment, valued at nearly $5.7 million, to 12 countries in need around the world, as well as providing low cost equipment and supplies to more than 700 people in Maine. Our programs reduce the amount of waste going into our landfills, help to build stronger health care systems, and improve access to health care.

We are looking for additional board members who can help us expand our services, particularly in the greater Boston area. Desirable qualities include but are not limited to knowledge of any of the following: hospital systems, medical equipment and supplies, global health, environment and sustainability, fundraising, and marketing.
