Description
This opportunity will take the volunteer through all inpatient areas of our hospital providing face time with many types of patients! It is a vital role that allows us to spread some joy to our patients while assisting with any immediate needs that a patient or family member could have!
Must be comfortable on patient care floor; must be considerate in relating to the needs of patients and visitors; must have successfully completed the hospital orientation. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Visit patients with our activity cart and offer complimentary items!
- Books, coloring items, fidget toys, decks of cards, etc.
- Spend time visiting with them and bringing some joy to their day!
- Help with additional items when in room as needed:
- Fill ice water, offer refreshements and remove meal trays.
- Offer care items
- Assist with meal ordering
- Water flowers if needed
- Make sure phone/call light is within reach
2 shifts available; shifts can last between 2-4 hours!
- Select Weekdays and Weekends: 10:00 to 14:00 CST
- Select Weekdays and Weekends: 18:00 to 20:30 CST
