    Description

    Help fund wildlife conservation - join our Development Committee!

    The Development Committee is key to ensuring our chapter can fulfill its mission. This committee advises and assists the chapter in raising funds to carry out its day-to-day work, projects, and ensure the chapter’s longevity.

    The committee is involved with a lot activities, and we need volunteers to help tackle individual tasks or activities.

    If you can help with one or more of the following items, we'd love to have your help!

    • Work with staff to draft annual development plan
    • Work with staff to draft appeal letters
    • Help staff plan and implement annual Birdathon
    • Help staff plan and implement annual Feast in the Forest
    • Help staff identify and develop class opportunities
    • Identify new sources of revenue
    • Review existing revenue streams
    • Oversee planned giving program
    • Write thank you letters for donations
    • Identify opportunities for sponsorships/partnerships
    • Help staff develop sponsorship benefits

    Subcommittee: Grant Research

    This subcommittee will identify grants that the chapter could apply for to fund its projects and programs.

    Tasks may include:

    • Conduct online research to identify grant opportunities
      • Use foundation and corporation giving guidelines and history to determine which fund environmental issues
    • Contact foundations to request annual reports and funding guidelines
    • Under the guidance of the Development Committee Chair or Executive Director, categorize and file foundation and corporation information
