    Position Overview

The Volunteer Editor-in-Chief will oversee the creation, content development, and distribution of Think Round’s bimonthly newsletter via Mailchimp. This publication highlights exhibitions, projects, events, intern updates, and partnerships that reflect Think Round’s mission and vision: Earth is home. Humans are family.

The ideal candidate is a strong writer and editor with an eye for storytelling, design, and audience engagement—able to transform updates into inspiring, accessible communications that build community and expand Think Round’s reach.

    Key Duties & Responsibilities

    Editorial Planning & Coordination

      • Develop and maintain the editorial calendar for the bimonthly newsletter.
      • Collaborate with the Executive Director and Marketing Team to determine each issue’s theme, tone, and key messages.
      • Curate content from Think Round’s various teams, programs, and exhibitions (e.g., Virtual Center for the Human Family, Healing Rooms, Paradise Project, Think Round Fine Arts).
      • Ensure content reflects TRI’s mission, brand voice, and visual identity.

    Writing & Editing

      • Write, edit, and proofread all newsletter sections
      • Ensure clarity, tone consistency, and grammatical accuracy across all text.
      • Adapt or condense longer materials for email format, maintaining reader engagement.

    Design & Layout (Mailchimp)

      • Format and design newsletters using TRI’s Mailchimp templates and brand style guidelines.
      • Upload and caption images, videos, and links to Think Round’s website, YouTube, Shopify Shop, and virtual galleries.
      • Review and test newsletter appearance across devices and screen sizes.
      • Maintain subscriber lists and segmentation in collaboration with TRI’s marketing and communications volunteers.

    Distribution & Analytics

      • Schedule and distribute the bimonthly newsletter on Mailchimp.
      • Monitor open and click-through rates to evaluate engagement.
      • Provide short post-publication summaries with recommendations for future issues.

    Team Collaboration

      • Coordinate content with TRI’s Marketing Specialist, Gallery Team, and Intern Leads.
      • Request updates from departments, teams, or collaborators as needed.
      • Mentor interns assisting with copywriting, layout, or research.
      • Participate in monthly or bimonthly communications meetings to review progress and goals.
