Vet Assistant

Our organization holds multiple vetting days and vaccine clinics at our La Mesa facility. We are looking for volunteers who want a hands-on experience that directly impacts the dogs in our care. The vetting days/clinics at our facility take place on Sundays and Mondays. Shifts are from 7:45am to 1pm and 1pm to 5:30pm.

Primary Vet Room responsibilities include taking patient vitals, administering vaccines (under veterinary supervision), properly restraining dogs for appointments, implanting microchips, filling medications, noting needed supplies, sanitizing instruments and clinic room, assisting with radiographs, and assisting as a stand-in Foster Liaison if we are short on hands.

*Please note that the Vetting Team is looking for volunteers with prior experience/knowledge of being a Vet Asst or Vet Tech, as well as a minimum commitment of at least 2-3 shifts per month.
