    About Greater IMPACT Church

Greater IMPACT Church is a 100% online, Christ-centered ministry committed to sharing the love, truth, and transforming power of Jesus Christ. We are building a faith-filled community and seek skilled professionals who want to make a lasting impact by serving the mission of the church. Volunteer Ministry Workers are valued partners whose professional knowledge strengthens our ministry infrastructure.

    Engagement Overview

The Director of People & Culture is responsible for the health, development, and legal integrity of the church’s greatest asset: its people. Reporting to the Operations Pastor, you will lead the "Life Cycle" of every individual serving within the ministry—from initial recruitment and background checks to ongoing leadership development and performance health. You will serve as a strategic partner to the Operations & Executive Pastor(s), ensuring the church’s internal culture reflects its outward mission. Your goal is to build a professional, legally compliant, and spiritually vibrant environment where leaders thrive and the organization remains protected.

    Scope of Services

    • Strategic Recruitment: Design and lead collaborative systems with Operations to identify, interview, and welcome high-capacity volunteers and ministry leaders into the church’s mission.
    • Policy Development & Compliance: Author and maintain the Volunteer Handbook, ensuring all policies comply with federal and state labor laws in collaboration with the Executive Team.
    • Risk Management: Manage the mandatory background check process, safety training (e.g., Child Protection Policies), and digital privacy compliance.
    • Leadership Development: Create "Pathways of Growth" for leaders, including Volunteer Feedback Conversations, conflict resolution frameworks, and burnout prevention strategies.
    • Culture Curation: Monitor the "spiritual pulse" of the team, organizing volunteer appreciation initiatives and ensuring a healthy, unified serving environment.
    • Organizational Design: Assist the Operations Pastor in refining the organizational chart and defining job descriptions for new roles as the church scales.
    • Records Management: Ensure all personnel files, NDAs, and volunteer time-tracking records are securely maintained in compliance with FLSA and DOL documentation standards.

    Professional Qualifications

    Education & Experience

    • Academic Requirement: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in HR Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
    • Professional Experience: 2–5 years of proven experience in HR Management, with a focus on compliance, policy writing, and team building.
    • Preferred Experience: Human Resources management within a ministry, non-profit, or church-related setting is highly preferred.

    Core Competencies

    • Legal Literacy: Strong understanding of federal and state employment laws (specifically as they apply to 501(c)(3) religious organizations).
    • Strategic Thinking: Ability to see the "big picture" of church growth and align human resources to support that growth.
    • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive personnel issues with grace, confidentiality, and professional firmness.

    Legal & Safety Requirements

    • Mandatory Background Check: Must successfully pass a comprehensive criminal background check.
    • Ethical Standard: Must adhere to the highest standards of confidentiality regarding staff and volunteer personal data.

    What We Offer in Return

    • Written letter of service and professional reference upon successful completion.
    • Opportunity to serve a growing, mission-driven online church community.
    • Networking with other faith-aligned professionals.
    • Public acknowledgment (with permission) in church communications.
