    Description

Help Women Veterans Be Seen: PR & Media Volunteer

Our whole mission is three words: seen, known, together. If you know how to get people noticed, you already understand the assignment.

Recognition is the foundation everything else is built on. You can't connect a woman veteran to community or resources if the world doesn't know she's there, and right now most of the public doesn't. Invisible Warriors is out to fix that, and this is the role that puts these women in front of the public and the press.

    What you'd actually be doing:

    • Build relationships with local media and pitch our stories and events

    • Write press releases, media advisories, and talking points

    • Line up interviews, features, and community coverage

    • Help shape how the public sees women veterans

Who we're looking for: you've done PR, communications, or media relations, or you've got the instincts and the contacts. You write cleanly and you're comfortable making the ask. You don't need to be a veteran. Neither is our founder.

The commitment: a few hours a week, more around big events or announcements, mostly remote with some in-person events. One honest ask: if you can't respond when a media window opens, please don't apply. Coverage is often now-or-never, and a pitch that goes out late is a story we lose.

Why it's worth your time: the coverage you land is the difference between a woman veteran who feels invisible and one who sees herself in the news, honored. That's not a small thing to be part of.
