    Description

    Public Relations

Are you passionate about lifting up women veterans whose strength is too often overlooked? Do you love shaping stories, building buzz, and moving people to care and take action? This is your chance to use your PR skills to change lives.

Invisible Warriors is looking for a volunteer Public Relations Specialist who wants more than “just experience” — someone ready to help women veterans living with PTSD, MST, and invisible illnesses be seen, heard, and supported. In this role, you will be the voice behind campaigns, stories, and media moments that spark understanding and inspire real community support.

    What you’ll do

    • Create and lead PR strategies that put Invisible Warriors and our mission in front of the right audiences.
    • Write powerful press releases, media pitches, and social media content that move people to pay attention and get involved.
    • Build genuine relationships with local media, influencers, and community partners who can help amplify our work.
    • Help plan and promote events that spotlight the resilience and stories of women veterans.
    • Track media coverage and campaign impact so you can see the difference your work is making.

    Who this is perfect for

    • You have experience or strong interest in public relations, communications, or journalism.
    • You write clearly and creatively, and you enjoy crafting messages that connect with real people.
    • You’re comfortable with social media and basic PR tools.
    • You can work independently, meet commitments, and also enjoy collaborating with a small, mission-driven team.
    • You care deeply about justice, healing, and honoring the “invisible” heroes in our community.

    What you gain

    • 5–10 flexible hours per week you can fit around your life.
    • A meaningful portfolio of real PR work that supports a powerful cause.
    • Direct impact: you will see your words and outreach turn into awareness, attendance, and support for women veterans.
    • A place on a caring, committed team that will value your ideas and your voice.
