Haitian Art Store Operations Coordinator Volunteer
Details
Description
Overview:
Global OffSite Care (GOSC) is seeking a volunteer to help manage the ongoing operations of the Haitian Art Store, an initiative that supports the Haiti Orphanage Telemedicine Project.
This program was established in 2025 as an extension of GOSC’s Haiti Telemedicine Project, which connects a remote orphanage to physicians at a partner hospital in Port-au-Prince. Due to the orphanage’s location and limited access to local healthcare resources, staff were trained to assist with remote diagnosis and basic medical coordination with physicians through telemedicine.
As part of this effort, the project also launched a mobile pharmacy to treat common illnesses and provide basic medications on-site. Because sustainable funding for the pharmacy is critical, the Haitian Art Store was created to sell locally produced Haitian artwork, with proceeds directly supporting the purchase and replenishment of medical supplies for the orphanage.
The volunteer supporting this role will help ensure the online store operates smoothly so that the initiative can continue generating funding for the pharmacy and telemedicine program.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update artwork listings on the website
- Upload new artwork, descriptions, and pricing as inventory becomes available
- Monitor incoming orders and coordinate order fulfillment
- Communicate with buyers regarding order confirmations, shipping timelines, and tracking information
- Coordinate packaging and shipment of purchased artwork
- Track artwork inventory and notify the team when new pieces are available to post
- Provide periodic updates on sales activity and inventory levels
- Identify opportunities to improve store organization, visibility, and operational efficiency
Impact:
This role helps sustain a unique initiative that connects healthcare access with community-driven economic support. By assisting with the operations of the art store, the volunteer directly contributes to maintaining the mobile pharmacy that provides essential care to children at the orphanage.
