Mentor A Promise (MAP) is a New York City–based nonprofit dedicated to empowering youth experiencing housing instability through mentorship, education, and community. Our work centers dignity, equity, and accountability—creating meaningful pathways to stability, opportunity, and hope.

At MAP, events are not just gatherings—they are intentional, designed experiences that carry the weight of our mission into real space.

About PromiseStudios | Creative Production & Experiences

PromiseStudios is MAP’s creative production division, responsible for campaigns, media, design, and live experiences. The division transforms ideas into immersive moments—across physical, digital, and hybrid environments.

Working in close partnership with PromiseBrands, all experiences are designed to be cohesive, intentional, and aligned with MAP’s identity systems and brand architecture.

    Role Overview

We are seeking an Event Planner / Producer to design, coordinate, and execute mission-aligned events and creative experiences.

This role will play a key leadership function in planning and producing the soft launch event for the Thread & Promise clothing campaign—a brand initiative rooted in identity, culture, and community storytelling.

The Event Planner / Producer will operate at the intersection of production, brand, and experience design, ensuring that each event is not only operationally strong—but also visually, emotionally, and culturally aligned with MAP’s brand systems.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Plan and produce MAP events including workshops, showcases, community gatherings, and campaign activations
    • Lead planning and execution of the Thread & Promise clothing campaign soft launch event
    • Work closely with PromiseBrands to ensure all events align with brand identity, visual systems, and messaging standards
    • Develop event concepts that reflect narrative, audience experience, and brand cohesion
    • Manage timelines, run-of-show documents, and production workflows
    • Coordinate venues, vendors, materials, and technical production needs
    • Collaborate with creative teams on event design, aesthetics, and experience flow
    • Partner with PromisePublic on outreach, engagement, and audience development
    • Ensure all events are accessible, inclusive, and aligned with dignity-centered values
    • Oversee on-site or virtual execution, including troubleshooting and flow management
    • Track event outcomes, engagement, and opportunities for improvement
    • Maintain timely, professional responsiveness via Google Workspace

    • Strong project management and organizational skills
    • Ability to manage multiple timelines and complex logistics
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills
    • Alignment with MAP’s mission and dignity-centered values

    Preferred

    • Experience producing brand launches, campaigns, or creative events
    • Experience working with brand or creative direction teams
    • Experience with nonprofit, community, or youth-centered programming
    • Experience in hybrid or digital event production
    • Strong eye for detail, aesthetics, and audience experience

    Commitment

    • Volunteer role
    • Approximately 5–10 hours per week
    • Minimum 6-month commitment preferred
    • Hybrid with NYC-based event execution preferred

    What You’ll Gain

    • Experience producing a brand-led campaign launch event from concept to execution
    • Direct collaboration with PromiseBrands, creative leadership, and program teams
    • Opportunity to shape a high-visibility initiative (Thread & Promise)
    • Professional references and letters of recommendation
    • A meaningful role designing experiences that connect identity, community, and purpose
