Volunteers at our Pit Stops and Encouragement Spots are the heartbeat of the SPOKES ride, providing the literal and emotional fuel our cyclists need to cross the finish line. As a volunteer in these roles, you aren't just handing out water; you are delivering the Kindness, Empathy, and Strength that defines our mission.
By joining us at a rest stop or a cheering station, you ensure our riders stay hydrated, safe, and motivated during their 130-mile journey. Your presence at these critical milestones directly supports the patients at the Ascension Sacred Heart Cancer Center by keeping our riders moving toward their fundraising goals. We need your energy to turn the roadside into a 'road to hope' for everyone involved."

How to Volunteer for This Opportunity
Join the SPOKES Bicycle Ride to support patients at the Ascension Sacred Heart Cancer Center. Your energy at our route stops helps turn the ride into a "road to hope."
Choose Your Availability
When you register, please indicate your availability based on the following options:
- Duration: One day or both days.
- Time of Day: Morning, midday, or afternoon.
- Shift Length: Expect a manageable 2–4 hour shift during your selected time.
Understand Your Assignment
To ensure the best support for our riders, volunteers will be assigned to either a Pit Stop or an Encouragement Spot based on the needs of the event.
- Assignments: Specific roles and locations will be finalized and sent to you after registration closes.
- Lead Contact: On the day of the event, you will report to a Lead Volunteer at your assigned spot for a quick orientation.
