Description
Facility Legal Advocates - Join the Movement for Prison Justice
Who:
Law students, paralegals, lawyers, or pre-law students
What:
Partner with committees of incarcerated individuals and their loved ones to address facility issues through legal research, advocacy, and support.
When:
- 1-hour Zoom meeting every other week
- ~3 hours of legal research or advocacy work every two weeks
Why:
Legal support can make a huge difference in the day-to-day realities of people in prison. This is a powerful learning opportunity and a meaningful way to connect with the lived experiences of incarceration and the work of the Minnesota Incarcerated Workers Organizing Committee (MN IWOC).
