    Description

    Are you organized, responsive, and interested in helping build a strong, mission-aligned volunteer team? This Girls Story is seeking a Program Assistant for our Volunteer Program to support the recruitment, coordination, and onboarding of volunteers.

    In this role, you’ll help ensure volunteer opportunities are visible, applicants are thoughtfully reviewed, and communication is consistent and welcoming.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Volunteer Opportunity Management

    • Maintain and update volunteer postings on external volunteer recruitment platforms and community boards, as well as the This Girls Story website
    • Ensure listings are accurate, current, and aligned with organizational needs
    • Update or refresh postings as roles evolve or new opportunities are added

    Applicant Screening & Coordination

    • Review incoming volunteer applications
    • Conduct initial screening to assess alignment with role needs and organizational fit
    • Forward qualified candidates to the Executive Director for next steps
    • Maintain organized records of applicants and their status

    Communication & Support

    • Respond to general volunteer inquiries in a timely and professional manner
    • Support a smooth and welcoming intake experience for prospective volunteers
    • Identify opportunities to improve volunteer recruitment and onboarding processes

    Qualifications:

    • Strong organizational and administrative skills
    • Clear, professional written communication
    • Ability to review applications thoughtfully and consistently
    • Comfortable working independently and managing multiple postings or applicants
    • Familiarity with volunteer recruitment platforms or community boards is helpful but not required
