    Description

Volunteer as a Shades for Migraine Community Leader!

Become a Community Leader and bring the Shades for Migraine (SFM) movement to life in your hometown!

Shades for Migraine is a global awareness campaign led by the Association of Migraine Disorders. Every June (Migraine and Headache Awareness Month), SFM encourages people to show their support for the 1 billion people living with migraine disease worldwide.

Migraine is misunderstood, stigmatized, and under-recognized. By speaking up about migraine, you may find many people in your area are being impacted by this disease. You will play an important role in educating people on the prevalence of the disease and how severely people can be affected by it. You will help strengthen and grow the migraine community by inspiring others to speak out about their experiences and provide them with the reassurance that they are not alone. For those in your community who do not have migraine, you can help them better understand what life is like for the people in their lives who do have the disease.

The Community Leader Program is your opportunity to do something extraordinary. Join us to help raise awareness for this very important cause!

Each year, we look for a diverse team of Community Leaders from every corner of the globe.

    Leaders should:

    • Have passion and enthusiasm for raising awareness about migraine
    • Be willing to dive into conversations with new faces, armed with exceptional interpersonal skills (social media experience is a plus!)
    • Have creativity, professionalism, and top-notch communication abilities
    • Spearhead and participate in community events

The Community Leader program is fully remote and designed to be flexible, accommodating your schedule and abilities. Whether you have a lot of time to give or just a little, you can contribute in a way that suits your comfort level. Your involvement can range from simple online tasks, like securing proclamations with local governments, to organizing your own fundraising and awareness events. Your participation can make a meaningful impact!

The Community Leader program runs from March through July, and spots are filled on a rolling basis.

Don’t miss out, apply by Monday, February 23rd at 5:00 PM EST to be part of this amazing group!
