Job description
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising & Capital Leadership
- Lead fundraising efforts across grants, philanthropy, and mission-aligned partnerships
- Personally engage in relationship-building, outreach, and closing
- Identify both near-term funding opportunities and longer-term capital pathways
Strategy & Positioning
- Design a realistic fundraising and capital strategy aligned with LandSeed’s stage and capacity
- Help refine narrative, positioning, and funder alignment
- Advise on sequencing: what to raise now vs. later
Systems & Accountability
- Establish lightweight fundraising systems (pipeline tracking, reporting, metrics)
- Coordinate closely with leadership on budget, runway, and growth implications
Growth Path & Leadership
- Work directly with the Executive Director
- Help shape the long-term structure of fundraising within the organization
- Transition into a paid, salaried or stipend-based leadership role as funding milestones are met (if mutually desired)
Who This Role Is For
This role is ideal for someone who:
- Has 3+ years of experience in fundraising, development, or capital strategy
- Has personally closed grants, major gifts, or institutional funding
- Values autonomy, trust, and impact over hierarchy or pace
