Volunteer Drivers Needed to Deliver Lifesaving Blood Products to Local Hospitals

If you have some free time, enjoy driving, and like knowing your efforts truly make a difference, the American Red Cross—partnering with Norfolk County RSVP—has a meaningful volunteer opportunity for you.
What You’ll Do
As a Volunteer Transportation Specialist, you will:
- Deliver lifesaving blood products from Red Cross distribution facilities to local hospitals
- Drive a Red Cross–owned vehicle
- Play a vital role in ensuring patients receive the care they need when they need it most
Time Commitment
- 2–4 shifts per month (or more, if you’re willing)
- Shifts are typically about 4 hours
Qualifications
To volunteer, you must:
- Have a valid state driver’s license and proof of insurance
- Have at least 3 years of driving experience with a clean driving record
- Be able to lift up to 45 pounds
- Complete a background check

Volunteers age 55+ are encouraged to apply through the Norfolk County RSVP Volunteer Program.
