    About Us

    Phoebe’s Safe Haven is a newly established nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting women with disabilities who are survivors of domestic violence. Our mission is to create safe, ADA-compliant housing and supportive resources that promote healing, dignity, and hope.

    We are currently preparing for our official public launch and are seeking a compassionate and creative volunteer Website Designer to help bring our vision to life online.

    Role Overview

    We are looking for someone who can design a clean, professional, and emotionally impactful website that reflects our mission and heart for advocacy. This is an opportunity to use your talents to support a meaningful cause and help establish the online presence of a growing nonprofit organization.

    Responsibilities

    • Design and develop a user-friendly website

    • Create a visually cohesive and accessible layout

    • Assist with homepage and core page design

    • Ensure mobile-friendly functionality

    • Help communicate the mission and vision effectively online

    • Collaborate on branding direction and visual presentation

    Preferred Skills

    • Experience with Canva, Wix, WordPress, Squarespace, or similar platforms

    • Understanding of modern, accessible web design

    • Strong communication and collaboration skills

    • Passion for nonprofit work and social impact

    PROJECT GOAL

    To create a professional, compassionate, mobile-friendly, and accessible website that reflects the mission of Phoebe’s Safe Haven and supports future outreach, awareness, and fundraising efforts.

    GENERAL EXPECTATIONS

    • Communicate respectfully and professionally

    • Maintain confidentiality regarding internal nonprofit information

    • Be responsive to messages and updates

    • Work collaboratively and remain open to feedback

    • Help maintain a trauma-informed and compassionate tone throughout the website

    • Mobile-friendly functionality

    • ADA-conscious accessibility whenever possible

    DESIGN DIRECTION

    • Easy to navigate

    • Survivor-centered in tone

    COMMUNICATION & WORKFLOW

    • Most communication will take place remotely through email or messaging

    • Progress updates are appreciated throughout the project

    • Questions are always welcome for clarification

    TIMELINE

    This is a flexible volunteer position; however, we hope to begin publicly launching and promoting Phoebe’s Safe Haven soon and would appreciate steady progress toward completion.
