    About Philly Peace in Progress

    Philly Peace in Progress is a community‑centered nonprofit dedicated to supporting youth, families, and neighborhoods through empowerment, education, and outreach. We are building a strong volunteer‑driven team committed to making a real impact across Philadelphia.

    Role Overview

    We are seeking a dedicated, organized, and people‑focused Volunteer Manager to help lead our volunteer program. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys supporting others, thrives in leadership environments, and wants to gain hands‑on experience in nonprofit operations and human resource processes.

    The Volunteer Manager plays a key role in ensuring volunteers feel welcomed, prepared, and supported throughout their service journey.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Coordinate volunteer recruitment, screening, and onboarding
    • Assist with interviews and help match volunteers to appropriate roles
    • Maintain volunteer schedules, attendance, and communication
    • Support training sessions and help develop onboarding materials
    • Track volunteer engagement and provide weekly updates to leadership
    • Help create and refine volunteer policies and procedures
    • Foster a positive, inclusive, and mission‑driven volunteer culture
    • Collaborate with program staff to ensure volunteers are supported during activities

    Ideal Candidate

    • Organized, reliable, and comfortable leading and supporting others
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Motivated, eager to learn, and committed to showing up consistently
    • Interested in nonprofit leadership, HR processes, or community development
    • Able to manage multiple tasks and maintain clear documentation
    • Passionate about helping others and being part of a meaningful mission
