    Description

    About the Opportunity

The AFSP Washington Chapter LGBTQ+ Committee is rebuilding — and we’re looking for passionate volunteers to help us grow.

Our goal is to make suicide prevention more inclusive and representative of the LGBTQ+ community across Washington State.

This committee helps lead outreach, education, and awareness for LGBTQ+ mental health through AFSP’s statewide programs, including Talk Saves Lives: LGBTQ+, Pride outreach, and community partnerships.

No nonprofit experience needed, just heart, creativity, and a desire to make a difference.

    What You’ll Do

    • Table at local Pride events, community fairs, and Out of the Darkness Walks
    • Help promote Talk Saves Lives: LGBTQ+ educational programs
    • Collaborate on social media content and campaigns
    • Participate in virtual meetings and brainstorming sessions
    • Bring your lived experience or allyship to shape how AFSP Washington represents our LGBTQ+ community

    Open Volunteer Roles

We’re building a small, statewide leadership team. You can apply for a general member role or one of our open focus positions below:

    • Website Design / Google Sites Volunteer

    • Program Presenter (Talk Saves Lives™: LGBTQ+)
    • Fundraising Volunteer (Event Planning Focus) Lead
    • Day-of-Event Volunteer
    • Marketing & Outreach Volunteer
    • Admin Support Volunteer

You don’t have to be an expert, just ready to learn, collaborate, and use your skills for a cause that matters.
