Description
The volunteer works with Radiology staff and women coming in for mammograms, ultrasounds, biopsies, and bone density exams at the Ambulatory Care Center (ACC).The primary job is to make the patients feel welcomed and at ease. The volunteer escorts the patients to the Women’s Center, helps them with their questionnaires if requested, stocks the dressing rooms and keeps them neat, sanitizes tablets, clipboards, pens, etc., folds letters, and other miscellaneous tasks, including keeping the refreshment bar stocked. The volunteer should be able to walk without assistance, although it is not necessary to walk great distances. Because the great majority of patients receiving mammograms are women, the volunteer should be female.
