    Description

Volunteer Coordinator (Volunteer Position) Harbor Hope Center | Tacoma, WA

About Harbor Hope Center Harbor Hope Center serves young adults ages 18–24 experiencing homelessness in Tacoma and Pierce County, providing transitional housing and wraparound support on the path to stability and independence.

Position Overview We're looking for a dependable, people-oriented volunteer to help us grow and strengthen the volunteer program at Harbor Hope Center. This is a flexible, approximately five-hour-per-week commitment that will be a paid role for the person who wants to make more than a few phone calls and return emails. If you want to develop the position, we are looking to turn this into a job. Job or volunteer, you'll play a meaningful part in our mission by ensuring volunteers are recruited, equipped, and engaged.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Recruit, onboard, and retain volunteers across program areas
    • Coordinate scheduling and day-to-day volunteer communication
    • Develop and deliver volunteer orientation and training materials
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for volunteer questions and feedback
    • Maintain volunteer records and track hours and engagement
    • Partner with staff to identify volunteer needs and opportunities

    What We're Looking For

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working with minimal supervision
    • Passion for serving young adults and the broader Harbor Hope mission
    • Experience in volunteer coordination, nonprofit work, or a related field is a plus, but not required

Time Commitment Approximately 5 hours per week, with flexible scheduling.
