Contract Grant Writer / Part-Time

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly meticulous and persuasive Part-Time /Contract Grant Writerto secure funding that drives our organization’s mission. In this role, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of fundraising proposals, including prospect research, proposal development, and submission management. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of securing public and private foundation grants, excels at navigating funder rubrics, and can seamlessly translate complex program details into compelling narratives.

Key Responsibilities

• Funder Research: Identify and qualify new institutional, corporate, and government grant opportunities using databases like Candid or Instrumentl.
• Proposal Development: Write, edit, and assemble high-quality, customized grant proposals, Letters of Intent (LOIs), and concept notes.
• Collaboration & Strategy: Work closely with finance and program teams to align program designs with specific, measurable funder outcomes.
• Budget Alignment: Help develop realistic project budgets and build line-item narratives explaining explicit direct costs.
• Calendar Management: Maintain our internal tracking system to track deadlines, reporting requirements, and compliance metrics.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of successful grant writing experience with verifiable data points on secured funding.
• Technical Writing: Exceptional prose editing skills, with a talent for storytelling without relying on overly generic, AI-generated verbiage.
• Project Management: Extreme attention to detail and a strict adherence to strict funder guidelines.
• Systems Familiarity: Experience using digital donor management tools or CRM platforms.
