Be part of a growing movement building health, community power, and self-determination in the Black community. The One Africa! One Nation! Farmers Market is calling on dedicated volunteers to help bring this vision to life during our 2026 season in North St. Louis.

Our Mission

To ensure access to fresh, healthy food for the Black community, end food apartheid, and build sustainable community commerce by strengthening relationships with Black farmers and vendors — advancing a real path toward African self-reliance and self-determination.

Why Volunteer?

This is more than a farmers market — it’s a space where culture, health, and economic power come together. From fresh produce and African and Caribbean cuisine to local entrepreneurship and community programming, the market is a living example of what self-determined communities can build.

Volunteer Role

The work doesn't stop when the market closes! Our Breakdown & Clean-Up Team helps return the market space to order and makes sure everything is safely packed away for the next community gathering.

Volunteers should be available for up to 2 hours after the market to break down tables, chairs, tents, and stages; pack equipment into the U-Haul; help unload equipment at the storage facility; and assist with trash collection and general site clean-up.

This is an important part of keeping the One Africa! One Nation! Farmers Market sustainable and ready to return month after month. Come help us end each market with the same care and collective spirit we bring to opening it!
