Social Media Specialist

Carefree Capping is looking for a Social Media Specialist (Volunteer) to help us expand our reach and support patients undergoing treatment for Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

We are a nonprofit that subsidizes cold cap therapy to help Hodgkin’s lymphoma patients reduce chemotherapy-related hair loss. Social media plays a huge role in helping patients find our resources, connecting with the cancer community, and growing the support needed to expand our impact.

Role Overview:

We’re looking for a creative, mission-driven volunteer to manage and grow our presence on Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook. This person will help share patient stories, educational content, nonprofit updates, and fundraising campaigns.

What You’ll Do:

• Create and schedule engaging posts across Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook
• Help develop content ideas (patient stories, educational posts, awareness campaigns, etc.)
• Design simple graphics or carousels (Canva or similar tools)
• Track engagement metrics and suggest ways to grow our audience
• Collaborate with the Carefree Capping team on campaigns and announcements

Ideal Volunteer:

• Interested in social media, marketing, communications, or nonprofit work
• Comfortable using Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook professionally
• Creative, organized, and compassionate about patient-centered work
• Experience with Canva or basic design tools is a plus

Time Commitment:

Flexible ~ ideally 1 hour per week or 4 hours per month
