Social Media Management and Engagement Volunteers

About Missions For Love Beyond Borders

Missions For Love Beyond Borders (MFLBB), a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering caregivers of individuals with disabilities through education, virtual support, and accessible resources, is looking for 2 Social Media Volunteers to help expand our online reach and connect more families, volunteers, and supporters with our mission.

Our work focuses on reducing contextual, language, and physical barriers while creating opportunities for caregivers and communities to access meaningful support and resources.

    About the volunteer opportunity

Are you an experienced social media professional who wants to use your skills for a meaningful purpose?

MFLBB is seeking 2 volunteers located in the United States to join our virtual social media team. These volunteers will work alongside an existing content-creation volunteer who develops digital stories, captions, and other social media content.

The 2 new volunteers will focus on publishing, social media management, audience engagement, and growth.

This is an opportunity to use your existing social media experience to help a growing nonprofit reach new audiences and increase awareness of resources and programs that support caregivers of individuals with disabilities.

    Responsibilities

    Social media management and publishing

One volunteer will focus on keeping MFLBB's social media presence organized and consistent

    • Publish and schedule content across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and other relevant platforms
    • Maintain a social media calendar and posting schedule
    • Ensure content is posted accurately and on time
    • Adapt existing content for different platforms when appropriate
    • Coordinate with the content-creation volunteer and MFLBB team

    Social media engagement and growth

The second volunteer will focus on building MFLBB's online community and expanding our reach

    • Monitor comments, messages, shares, and other audience interactions
    • Identify opportunities to increase engagement and reach new audiences
    • Research relevant social media trends, hashtags, partnerships, and outreach opportunities
    • Support strategies to increase followers and meaningful engagement
    • Monitor basic social media analytics and recommend opportunities for improvement
    • Help promote MFLBB programs, educational events, resources, and volunteer opportunities

    Team collaboration

    Both volunteers will

    • Collaborate with MFLBB leadership and the existing content-creation volunteer
    • Help maintain a consistent, authentic, and professional online presence
    • Contribute ideas for strengthening MFLBB's digital outreach
    • Participate in virtual meetings as needed

    Requirements

We are looking for volunteers who have demonstrated social media experience and are excited to apply their skills to a mission-driven organization

    • Currently located in the United States
    • Demonstrated experience managing or supporting social media platforms
    • Ability to provide examples of previous social media work, portfolios, campaigns, or accounts managed
    • Strong communication and organizational skills
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a virtual environment
    • Availability to participate in occasional virtual meetings
    • Interest in disability inclusion, caregiver empowerment, and community engagement

    Preferred skills

    • Experience with Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok
    • Experience with social media scheduling tools or content calendars
    • Familiarity with social media analytics and audience-growth strategies
    • Experience with Canva or similar digital tools
    • Experience supporting a nonprofit or mission-driven organization
    • Understanding of accessible and culturally responsive communication

    Why volunteer with MFLBB?

Your social media expertise can help MFLBB reach people who may not yet know that these resources and opportunities exist.

As an MFLBB Social Media Volunteer, you can

    • Use your professional skills to support a meaningful mission
    • Help connect caregivers and families with educational resources and support
    • Help a growing nonprofit reach new communities
    • Build experience in nonprofit communications and digital engagement
    • Collaborate with a passionate, international team
    • Help amplify a message of inclusion, empowerment, and connection
